I would like to talk to you about my assignment that I turned in late according to the gradebook. I remember you specifically told me that I would get an extension to turn it in since I was gone, I also remember telling you a day in advance that I would be gone.

I understand that you are busy and so am I, but I do not appreciate you cancelling our plans last minute. I would like you to give me your schedule so we can find a time together to hangout that works when you have free time.

So they understand that your feelings or wants need to be heard too. Also with explaining or telling them they will be reminded that you understand.
