Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Talk to the teacher calmly and respectfully and tell her you have turned the assignment in on time. Also listen to why she says it was late, then come to an understanding of the situation and ask about solutions.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Tell your friend, you know they might be busy but that you don’t think it is respectful that they keep cancelling last minute. Also maybe take the time to hear out the your friends explanation and maybe explain how you have set time aside for them in your busy schedule.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  First it shows someone how responsible and respectful you are when a situation maybe difficult or uncomfortable. The second reason is because if a situation isn’t handled with assertiveness it might escalate to a point that is unnecessary and unsolvable.
