Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  “Listen, if you aren’t free when you invite me to things, then I think you should double check your schedule to be sure you can come.”
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  It shows that you are accepting of opinions and not just getting mad or sad about decisions that are out of your control. It also will prevent you from acting up and potentially skimming your chance for your say in a decision again.
