Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I hate to take time out of your day but I was wondering if you could double check the turned in papers, I am pretty sure that I turned it in but I just wanted to make sure.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey, I love how you and I always want to hang out, but I do get that you are a busy person too, however, I would greatly appreciate it if you would give more of a heads up before you cancel our plans, that way if you want to cancel I can then plan to do something else.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Well if you don’t get what you want the first time, then still stay assertive, but after three or four times that is when I would escalate more towards passive/aggressive, because your opinion still matters too
