Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you are busy with everything going on, but if you wouldn’t mind I would appreciate it if you would check your schedule and not plan something unless you will stick to it. It would help the both of us greatly if we could communicate and plan things when we are both free to do so.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still choose to communicate assertively because people notice the tone and the words that you say even if you don’t get your way. They will remember that even though it didn’t go the way you wanted you still expressed your thoughts in a kind direct manner while still getting to your point.
