Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that we’re all really busy, but when you cancel plans at the last minute, it can be frustrating. Thank you for your consideration of my point.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  1. Look out not for your own interests, but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4) 2. God loves you so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, who was PERFECT in his life here on earth, although he endured the same temptations we do. He lived a perfect life, and then endured the cross for us because God has JUST wrath toward us (for ALL have sinned and fall short of God’s standard of perfection). God’s wrath was poured out on Christ rather than us, and we can have SALVATION by the amazing grace of God, through faith in Christ. There is salvation in no one else and we can do absolutely nothing to be saved. It is all through God’s grace and mercy. AND THEN Christ didn’t stay dead! He rose from the grave, conquering sin and death. We can be saved from eternal suffering and instead live in heaven, praising God for eternity!! So. Because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, he deserves so much more gratitude than we can offer. We can offer our lives for him, dedicate our lives to him. (And more honor is still due Him.) So be kind because we want to become more like Christ (although he was SO MUCH MORE THAN kind :)) !! That’s a super short and scattered version of the Gospel, but it’s still the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. Idk if anyone reads these, but that’s ok:)
