Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand you think my homework was turned in late, but I know that I completed it on time and turned it in like the rest of the class. If you would check in the pile with the rest of the class, I believe you would find my assignment in there.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand you may get busy, but when you cancel all our plans, it kinda hurts. How about we make less plans, and plan then for when you know it will work so we don’t have to cancel.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  1. Communicated assertively shows other people that care about how they feel in that particular situation. 2. When you are assertive, it helps you to look at the story from both sides instead of getting a angry cause it doesn’t perfectly match your side of the story.
