Student Answer:  I get that you think I turned in my homework late and that your disappointed, but I specifically remember turning it into the basket. Maybe you could double check the basket to make sure it’s there.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that your busy and have to cancel plans sometimes, but I’ve felt not very important when you bail on me. Next time we plan something could you make sure your free at that time before you schedule something? I think it might work out better the next time.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Communication is always key. You can communicate your feelings and thoughts and how you want to do things and handle things. You get get a better understanding of the situation or learn how to handle it better.
