Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Knowledge
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I turned in all my work, I don't have it anywhere on me or at my house. I never take it out of my binder till I'm at school. I know I turned it in and I will even help you look for it but there is no reason for you to be accusing me of something that's not true.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I want to hang out with you but I don't think it will ever happen. If you don't want to hang out with me, tell me instead of making plans than canceling last minute. There is no reason to cancel plans without being able to actually reschedule them without canceling last minute.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  When you are assertive people will respect you more. In an interview, if you are assertive about the job and working hard, you are more likely to get the job than someone who isn't being assertive.
