Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I'm not going to say you are trying to avoid me but these recent events make me feel as though you are trying to avoid me. If this is the case, I would really appreciate it if you could be honest with me and respect who I am. I apologize if this isn't the case but this is just how I feel.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  It is the best way for both sides to come together and agree upon a certain issue. It is also the best way to respect the person you are talking to and to have people respect you.
