Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  There was this on teacher I had in 2nd grade that said that she never got my homework even though I had handed to her when I turned it in and she said “thank you.” I told her “maybe you lost it?” As a suggestion of what could have happened and she got mad and thought I was being rude or something. But I still knew that I turned it in so I told her that “I remembered turning it in and you saw me turn it in.” Later on in the day she found it at her house and forgot it there somehow after she was done grading.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Dear friend, I honestly do not know why you keep making plans with me and then when the day comes you cancel it. It makes me very upset that you do this all the time, so if something is going on you can talk to me. I have no problems with just sitting down and talking I just think we should spend more time together like we use to.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  I should still choose to communicate assertively because if I speak in a different voice it could make someone offended or even hurt. Also because you never know that the words you say could effect someone’s life so very much.
