Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Post-Test KHMS 2021-22
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand why you believe I turned in my homework late, but I made several attempts on (Showbie and/or Google Classroom) while I was at home. When I arrived to school and tried it again, it finally worked. My only thought is it's my bandwidth I have at home as I've had similar issues with other projects/assignments for other classes. I'm not expecting you to give me special treatment, and in the end it's going to be your decision, but please check with other students to see if they are having similar issues.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I do not understand what is going on, but please understand that I purchased these tickets thinking that this time you would make it. I want to hang out with you, but until you get things figured out, I will not be asking you until I can trust you again. I'm here if you need to talk.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Being assertive helps boost your self-esteem and earn others' respect because they know exactly what you're going to do or not do because they know you will talk to them about it. Being assertive enables us to take responsibility for ourselves and our actions whether positive or negative without passing blame on others.
