Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I hear you saying that I turned my homework in late. Your accusation hurts my feelings, and it is unequivocally not true that I turned my homework in late. I 100% turned it in on time.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you need to cancel our plans. However, this has happened multiple times, and it is frustrating to me that this keeps happening.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still communicate assertively to share what you want and you may in turn get at least part of what you want rather than nothing you want if you are passive rather than assertive.
