Essay: When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons. Student Answer: Being assertive works best when you have some type of position of power over the other person. If you believe you can properly manipulate them then assertiveness will be the most effective option. The use of fear is an effective method in some cases so it would be best to use assertiveness if you have the ability and power to do so. Otherwise being passive is the safest option both physically and for your reputation. Being assertive can lead to conflict, prime examples of this involve disputes over political matters that may eventually lead to violence. If you are willing to sacrifice the money for court costs in hopes of winning, then you should communicate assertively. |
