Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  What do you mean, which homework? What day did you assign it? Are you sure you may have misplaced my paper because I specifically remember turning it in to you, on your desk and I don't have anything like it in my organizer.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  How many times are you gonna do this? This has been a consistent thing. I understand if you have priorities but, getting my hopes up by planning something with me, for me to then clear out the rest of my day to do something with you then I get stuck at home doing nothing because you decided last minute that it just wasn't gonna work out, do you realize how that makes me feel like I'm running in a circle with you?
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Assertive communication may not get you everything you want, but it does give you some things you want. Assertiveness is also a good way to set boundaries with people who may not get the message passively.
