Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I would like to make plans with you for this weekend; however, when we have made plans lately you seem to cancel out on me at the last minute leaving me hanging with nothing to do and I could have made plans with someone else.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Being assertive allows others to understand what you need and expect from them. Being assertive can clear up any miscommunication before undo stress builds.
