Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Course
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I know you think I turned in my homework late, and that is frustrating to me because I turned my homework in by the due date.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  You tend to make plans with me and then cancel at the last minute. This really makes me feel upset because I am always looking forward to spending time with you.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Being assertive allows you to express your feelings and thoughts on how the situation affects you, rather than keeping it all bottled up inside and exploding later on. It also allows the other person to hear how it affects you because they might not have thought about that or known it affected you in a certain way.
