Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a skill in math. How could you self-regulate to improve your learning.
Student Answer: If I were struggling to learn a math skill, I would first go back to the text to read the examples and then try again. I would compare my work with the examples in the book to see what I was doing wrong. If I still didn't understand or couldn't figure out the process, I would take a break and come back or I would ask for help from someone else. After having them show me, I would then work some with this person's help so that they can help me think through what I'm doing wrong. Then I would work on my own with the new information. I would complete multiple problems to make sure I'm understanding the steps. |
