Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand that you think I turned in my homework late. Please allow me to show you the completed homework and where it was. It makes me feel hurt that you think I would be irresponsible.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I know you are busy, but it makes me feel unappreciated when we make plans and then you cancel. I want to feel like my time is appreciated, too.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  It allows others to know where your boundaries are and increases the chance that future interactions will be positive.
