Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Knowledge Test 10.2022
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand that you think I have not turned this in, but I am positive that I have. It does not get us anywhere when you accuse me of something that has not been proven true. I am certain that if you check again, you will see that I have turned this assignment in on time.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you can be busy at times, but when you cancel plans it can be misleading. I feel that you cancel on me lat minute every single time, and it hurts my feelings. I would like an explanation, and maybe we can work out this disagreement.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Yes, because either way it gets my point out. Nobody can get what they want, but at least we can be assertive and show what we want. We can show dominance, which will give us a better chance of getting what we want. If we are less assertive, then we are less likely to get what we want.
