Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning. Student Answer: I would first ask the teacher, as always to help break it down for me to see how the concept works part by part. Then, I would quiz myself with problems of that concept and see if I could solve them on my own. I would not make a plan to of course get better at it over a week, usually the concepts introduced are used for a day and then put away for the next one to come in. But I would certainly try, and compare what answers I got to the true answers. If I noticed that my answers were more correct or if they were incorrect, I would go back over them and reflect on what I did wrong. Then I would correct my mistakes teaching me what I got wrong and how I can do it right next time. |
