Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning.
Student Answer: First you should identify why you can’t learn the concept in the first place. Are you distracted? Is the concept to difficult? Can you not understand terminology being used or is the information simply flying over your head? After you’ve identified the main problem, work to fix this problem. Find a plan that works specifically to you. If you get distracted, what can make you focus up? If you think you need additional help then it might be a good idea to find a tutor. If you get drowsy and are fatigued in class then you need to work on your sleep schedule. Try different methods you think might help you and reflect on the outcomes you get. Find what works. |
