Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning.
Student Answer: “Usually” I would break the beginning down into “okay” why when she did the formula for a triangle she had a letter b equal to 1& 1/2 and then she multiplied it to the other side which was the letter c but what does c equal too. So I go back and ask so one usually the teacher asking why the letters add up to whatever it adds up or what are the numbers they are supposed to be then when I know that I start to write things down like step one is …….., then step two is ……the ect……. But when I finish the first problem I’m still really not getting it I have to keep doing more problems using the steps that I wrote and eventually I’ll get it and if I don’t then by then we have already moved on to another topic in math so it probably wont matter anymore 😕 |
