Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I turn in my work and sat back down and my teacher gave me homework that is hard to do. I was at home thinking how I can do my homework. It was hard to think though. I use my phone to look it up. It didn't show me the answer, it just showed me words. I had a lot of chores to do at home too. I went to sleep after I took a shower. The next day, I woke up and got ready for school. In my class, I was doing work and all of a sudden, my teacher asked me "homework is due today". I said "Oh no, I forgot to do it at home". I almost cried but I accidently turn it in late and my teacher grade me a D. I said sorry to my teacher. I told him it was hard. I told him how can I do it. He said "I will help you answer the questions." He helped me and I was happy. He graded my work an A. He told me to know it and to study it. I listen to him and said "yes I will."
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I was at the cafeteria eating food that I liked and Coda was eating lemons. I asked him how do you get lemons, he said "you get them on the right side of the food serving area." and I went to the right side and got lemons. Coda was thinking he would be making a plan to do a lemonade for me. He setup the tent and the lemonade dispenser until, he noticed that he has no lemons. So he decided to cancelled the lemonade stand after the minute, because he forgot to get lemons from the store. I helped Coda get lemons from the store. I asked my mother "mom can you help me help a student, he needs lemons for a lemonade stand." She said "ok let me get ready first. You wait in the car and I will grab my wallet." After we bought lemons, Coda was happy and her mother was surprised. I gave Coda lemons and he said "I'll reopen the lemonade stand now." The kids enjoyed the lemonades.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  I had a long time doing my test. My score says it is very low. I kinda got angry. I whispered to my teacher I need help. He said "sorry, i have a lot of work to do" and I was stuck. I sat for a while doing nothing until the bell rings. My teacher said "are you doing your work." I lied yes, I'm doing my work. He said that I have low scores. I was mad and stomped around and ran to my next class. I was in the restroom crying saying that I am not learning on my tests. My teachers said why am I getting low scores. And I said because I don't know what to do. He said "maybe you need some videos to watch on my computer." I stopped my crying and went back to class. He heard me in the restroom. I watch the video two times until I am starting to remember it. I redo my test and I got 100% on it. My teacher said great job. I don't have to get mad, I have to keep staying on track, calm down, listen to my teachers, and I need to pay attention.
