Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Hey, I've looked through all of my notebooks and folders and I'm not finding the assignment. I also wrote it down that I turned it in to you on Monday, when it wasn't due till Thursday. Do you mind looking again for me?
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey, I really enjoy hanging out with you, but I can't keep doing this last minute cancellation thing anymore. I'd love to keeping hanging out with you, but you need to fully commit before asking.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  When communicating assertively, you're less likely to get pushed over. In different group activities, when being passive your ideas don't always get heard. You're also less likely to be ignored or disliked, because when someone approaches something aggressively, I personally do not enjoy listening to them or getting beaten down by them.
