Individual Essay Grading For: Elementary Self-Regulation Course
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Imagine that you are struggling to learn a skill in math. How could you self-regulate to improve your learning.
Student Answer:  I could identify the problem area of where the trigger truly is located. Next, I would make a plan of how to address this problem area, but I would not limit it to one option to solve. I would include at least three different options to trial in the event that the first one did not solve my issue, I would have other directions to trial. Three options I may visit could look like the following: 1. Reviewing video models explaining the development of the skill and practices shown through the process, 2. Asking a peer to help me process the math problem, and/or (if necessary) 3. Ask the instructor to individually provide a small amount of time to process through the problem with me. Making a plan and adjusting as needed would allow me to feel less frustrated with something that is difficult for me to learn.
