Student Answer:  Karl, I understand that you have other things going on, but when we make plans a week before just for you to cancel last minute, It wastes my time that I could be spending doing something else, but surely if something comes up you can call and reschedule. When you have the time I would appreciate it if you would call so we could make plans to discuss this over lunch.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  If you communicate assertively you will be more likely to succeed in your disagreement, you may also avoid hurting others by acknowledging their opinion.
