Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I feel frustrated and I think that the way we are dealing with this situation is stressful for both of us. I feel cornered and ignored and I believe there is a better solution. I want to talk about the assignment and why you think it was late and figure out what to do please.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  It makes me feel ignored when you make plans with me, then cancel right before. We don't ever talk about it and I let it by and that is partly my fault. We should communicate with each other better in the future please.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should always communicate assertively to avoid any extra drama that is unnecessary, and so that you feel comfortable speaking up for yourself. No matter what, how you feel is important and if you never say anything, nothing has the possibility of changing.
