Student Answer:  I understand that it might have appeared this assignment was late, however I remember turning it in on the due date.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I get that things come up and you won't always be available. However, it sometimes feels as if I have done something to upset you or you don't want to spend time with me. We can always work around your schedule and find a time where you wont be busy.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  1. Being assertive is going to look better on you in the end. If you keep your cool and listen to the other persons side then they are more likely to feel satisfied with the conversation instead of bubbling in their anger. 2. You will be more respected if you understand how to have an assertive conversation and it will make you look responsible and mature.
