Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand why you thought I turned my homework in late, but I turned it in on the first day it was assigned. Please don't accuse me of doing wrong when I assure you I didn't.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I know you might be busy, but you need to communicate it with me ahead of the time we are supposed to hang out. Cancelling really makes me feel like I'm not important.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Because if you do not state it it will have never been suggested and it will just weigh on you. Your thought could make someone else come up with a different suggestion that meets both needs.
