Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I appreciate that you proceed to make plans with me. It makes me feel included and wanted. However, it is becoming a problem that you keep canceling last minute. I would appreciate it if you would commit to the plans or refrain from making them for future reference.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Being assertive is a great life skill that will provide clear communication with others around you. But in these situations, it may not always go the way you plan. Others will also have strong opinions that could show a different side of the topic or situation that you weren't aware of. With that in mind, you should be open to excepting the other opinions and rethink your response while still being assertive and respectful.
