Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand that you believe that I may have cheated on the homework. I can only use my words and honesty to assure you that I did all of the work on my own. If you think it is appropriate, I ask to redo the assignment or be assigned a different assignment if that is what is necessary.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  While I understand that events may come out of the blue, it frustrates me that you keep switching plans up. Whenever you may have time and you know for sure that we can hang out, just let me know.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You can provide your opinion on a subject if there is a disagreement, and it may prevent further incursion. It is better to be assertive than passive or aggressive because there is a chance for compromise.
