Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I know you believe my assignment is missing, but I am certain I turned it in. I finished everything I needed to do for that assignment, and you must've lost it. I could help you look for it, but I will not redo an assignment I know I turned in.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I'm glad you are wanting to make plans to spend time with me, but you keep cancelling at the last minute and it's getting on my nerves. I understand if you're busy, but if this keeps happening we should just cancel the plans all together. I'm not going to waste my time continuing to make plans when you're just going to cancel.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  So you're points are heard and at least considered. To communicate that you're thoughts and ideas are valuable as well.
