Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  "Mrs. (Insert Name), I understand that you think I turned it in late, but I have evidence that I turned it in on time."
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  "Bro, I know you're trying to hang out, but you need to set time apart for us to hang out and not just putting it off until the last minute."
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still try and be assertive because at least your opinion is heard. You may not get what you want, but having your opinion in the conversation does change the outlook on how others may see the solution. You should also be assertive because it gets your opinion off your chest, which can ease anxiety and different negative emotions.
