Student Answer:  I would describe the situation first saying I understand that you think I turned in my homework late. Then to express how I feel say I feel frustrated because I did turn in my homework on time and this affects my grade poorly. Then finally ask if the teacher would be willing to look at the time I submitted it again and clear up this problem.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I noticed you've been making plans with me and then canceling at the last minute. I feel upset because I do want to hang out together but it's frustrating when you keep canceling plans. I think we need more communication let me know sooner if you need to cancel.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  I think that it's important because communication and expressing yourself is going to help you in the long run.
