Individual Essay Grading For: 23/24 Assertiveness Post-Assessment
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I know that it doesn't look like I turned the assignment in on time, but I'm sure that if we look into it more we can find that I did turn the assignment in on time.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I know you might not want to hang out with me, but it feels terrible every time that you cancel at the last minute. If it's okay with you I would like it if you would check your plans or not make any plans at all if you can't commit to anything.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still choose to communicate assertively because it will allow you to still express your opinions, whether you get what you want or not, and helps you to be more polite, which can be a helpful skill in the future.
