Student Answer:  I would like to talk to you about my assignment that I turned in late according to the gradebook. I remember you specifically told me that I would get an extension to turn it in since I was gone, I also remember telling you a day in advance that I would be gone.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you are busy and so am I, but I do not appreciate you cancelling our plans last minute. I would like you to give me your schedule so we can find a time together to hangout that works when you have free time.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  So they understand that your feelings or wants need to be heard too. Also with explaining or telling them they will be reminded that you understand.
