Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Knowledge Test (7-12)
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Hello teacher, I see that you think that I turn in my homework late, but I always take time to study & you know I would always get the job done. Id just like it if you'd have patience & maybe understand that we all take time on something.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey friend, I love making plans with you, but it seems you cancel or something comes up. If you feel bad about something or just simply don't want to show up, feel free to tell me directly, but canceling every time with no excuse at the last minute makes me feel bad. Thank you for your understanding.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Because it is a polite way to express your feelings, & also has the other person understand my feeling or my perspective on something. Also because being passive might make the other person take advantage, or being aggressive would make them feel bad or cause an argument.
