Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Pre-Test
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand that you have a lot of work coming in, but it's not fine accusing me of turning it in late. You can't focus on every student at once so mess ups happen. You'll need to trust me when I say that I did turn it in on time.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Why are you cancelling so much? I get that things come up but this is happening too often. You need to tell me if something is wrong or I won't make anymore plans.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still be assertive while talking because it still allows people to understand what your standing is and that you know what you want. It keeps them from thinking that they can disrespect you.
