Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Ms. Clattie, I understand you may think that this was due on Monday, but that isn't true. In Google Classroom, it shows the assignment being due today, as well as you telling us on Friday. You can check if you'd like to.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Naty, I must express that whenever you make plans to hang out together, I always am excited to. When you cancel, I feel upset. I understand that you may get busy, but could you try making sure you're able to have plans before asking me from now on?
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still communicate assertively because it allows others to trust you, as well as respect you. Even if it does not work at times, it is the most effective way to communicate.
