Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey, I would like to talk with you about a re-occurring problem. Recently you have been constantly making plans with me but then you cancel on me. I find it rather unfair and pointless. It's getting my hopes up and wasting my time to make sure everything is tidy and proper for you to come over. If it's okay, may you please make plans you actually want to stay committed to rather than cancelling on me everytime?
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  1. Because you get your point across properly. 2. You're not sweet talking, but you're also not rude.
